How's this for a fleet!

The 2005 Fall series got off to a great start when 48 boats showed up for the first day of racing. You could feel the excitement in the air as everyone registered, rigged and got ready to battle it out in the water. On the weather side of things, we had a cold front go thru the night before, finally chasing away those awful warm summer temps, replacing them with a more moderate 60 degrees. If you were up and about early Sunday, the trees were whistling with 20 knots of breeze, but by the time racing began it had dropped to 8 knots out of the NNE and continued to fade for the rest of the day.

Um, how is sailing in the fall considered "frostbiting"? Tell you what, come on out fleet and match racing with us on Boston Harbor every Saturday from November throught the end of March on J24s and maybe then you'll experience frostbiting. Nothing like getting to the club an hour early to shovel off a foot of snow off the deck and chip out six inches of ice from the cockpit to get those sailing juices flowing...

I'd argue that the Laser Fleet in Newport is most likely the best. Great sailors, 50-65 boats each week. Any doubters?
