Good Day,

I'm being relocated to the southeast region of the US, and was wondering if anyone has their finger on the pulse of the sailing community in St. Augustine FL or Charleston SC?

Thank you in advance.

Charleston has a very active sailing community. There are several one design fleets such as sunfish, J24, Melges 24s, M and Escows etc. Charleston Ocean Racing Association (http://www.CharlestonOceanRacing.org/) is the heart of the "big " boat racers hosting frost bite racing, Wednesday night series, harbor races, ocean races and long distance racing.
There are 4 active yacht clubs and several marinas.
The Sunfish Worlds have just ended. The next major event is the Collegiate Sloop Nationals. Charleston Race Week in April is becoming a major East coast event, attracting 200 boats. This is followed by the Charleston to Burmuda Race, another growing event.
I hope this helps.
