It happened and was a great time. We will actually be putting pics and video up on the site for everyone to see. We had about 75-100 people there including industry reps. here is an update with a brief breakdown of the event.....monday I will start flogging the website developer and we will see how fast we can get the video up.

After a small projector issued was cleared up. That was ok as it just added to bar time.

- Rick presented the boat and idea and then sent the show to Rob who proceeded to go over the rig and hull design and lay out. Rob continued to come in and discuss the boat at various points with the other vendor reps.

- SP Systems followed up with a discussion about the corecell materials and the carbon lay up process. He had some very good information about the strength of the layering compared to existing materials including case study information and pictures of the resultant tests.

- Vetus engines followed with information about the engine and its history as well as that the engine is covered for three years including parts and labor. He even brought an engine with. We made Doug carry that.

- Harken talked for a while about their involvement with the boat, new tech and included a display booth of their gear.

- West Marine introduced and brought in their OEM rep from Applied Fiber for the Powerlite PBO rigging, this was a great display of new tech, samples to look at first hand and he fielded questions very smartly.

- Will from North came up and gave a brief talk about the sailmaker meeting that had been held at noon that included reps and designers from Doyle, Haarstick, Quantum, North, UK-Halsey, Ullman, each of whom gave input into the rig layout and sails to be used in OD config. BTW, thanks guys! Everyone at APY appreciated this!

- There were press reps from Spinsheet, Sail Magazine and other local press on hand. The crowd seemed to appreciate the hands on approach of talking directly to various vendors and the principals involved with the boat and a lot of positive buzz was created last night.

Good times and it looks like the boat is off to a great start.

Things like this and the NYYC42 are really showing a new level of planning for introducing new boats.

Pics and video, please!
