I just read the article on Pressure Drop about the AC34 and the Economic Boon to Alameda.
The AC34 and the Economic Boon to Alameda.

I came across this paragraph
Along with securing the two sailing teams, the committee organized an event with Artemis CEO Paul Cayard at the Alameda Theatre & Cineplex that drew 700 people; created the AlamedaWaterfront.com website; and helped launch the Alameda Community Sailing Center, a nonprofit aimed at promoting sailing among families and young people
About 1 1/2 years before the actual AC34, I tried to contact and issue a challenge to RC and LE to race in a 2.4mR Match Race to raise funds for BAADS (and Calif disabled/Paralympic sailing in general).
If I had heard anything about Cayard and the Alameda Community Sailing Center, I would have tried to make contact. I'm sure Cayard would have been far more receptive.
Why are these things not made more PUBLIC.
The west coast is so devoid of higher level disabled (Paralympic) sailing that I really feel the need to get these Sailing Stars to take notice and feel the pain (so they will make an appearance for fund raising).
WTF does it take.
Now that I am no longer affiliated with SA maybe an introduction is in order.
ANYONE KNOW ANYONE???????
