A new Partnership between US Sailing and the National Marine Manufacturing Association (NMMA) was recently formed to introduce new people to boating and build interest for casual boaters. Since you share this mission, we’re inviting you to put your message out to a new group of potential boaters.

Join us for National Marina Day - Saturday June 8th. It’s the first nationwide boating event dedicated to growing boating by helping sailing organizations across the United States expand their customer base.
The goal? Provide a minimum of 10,000 on-water experiences through events that introduce the benefits and fun of boating to new audiences with little or no boating experience, current boaters and lapsed boaters.
How? Recreational boating businesses, like you, who want to expand their presence, can participate as event organizers or partners. We envision that every event will be unique and shaped to meet the needs of the local market. Activities could include on-water hands-on training; open houses; showcase of boats and related marine products; free demo rides with sales follow-up; and safety demonstrations.
Intrigued? Go to http://www.nationalmarinaday.org and read about National Marina Day plans and goals. You will be able to find the names of event hosts and other event participants and supporters in your area on the website search function.
Interested? Go to http://www.nationalmarinaday.org/ and indicate your interest in participating. You will then get an opportunity to sign up for Informational webinars which will explain the details for becoming an event host or participant. The webinars will start in early April, and include a special webinar for those interested in showcasing their organization with on-water training events and training. These short, on-line webinars will contain training content information from Discover Boating events, generate discussion for additional content ideas, and, especially, talk about how US Sailing /US Powerboating partners can leverage new members and incremental training course sales from their participation in National Marina Day events.
The registration deadline is April 15th. Register now to be covered in the marketing and promotion plan. Plans to promote these events and the industry’s collaborative efforts to get the message out to the public and drive attendance will be outlined in the webinars as well.
