San Francisco Leukemia Cup - top ranked fundraising regatta in U.S. Log-In to Post/Reply

San Francisco Leukemia Cup is the top ranked fundraising regatta in the country!

On behalf of Honorary Chairman Tom Perkins and the Leukemia Cup Committee, we are very pleased to announce The San Francisco Yacht Club’s seventh annual Leukemia Cup Regatta raised an incredible $850,000 for the cause and is once again ranked the top fundraising regatta in the country for the sixth consecutive year. We thank you for your generosity in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s life-saving research and vital services to blood cancer patients and their families.

VIP Dinner with Ted Turner and Gary Jobson
Gary and Ted captivated the sold-out audience with an entertaining fire-side chat that covered a wide variety of topics, including their sailing adventures together, the importance of philanthropy, global issues and Gary’s personal battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Many thanks to our generous auction donors! To help raise additional funds for the cause we have several post-event auction items up for bid including a “once in a lifetime” opportunity to race onboard ORACLE TEAM USA’s America’s Cup AC45. Place your bid today – bidding is open until 9:00 pm Wednesday, November 7. To view the auction packages, click here.

Honorary Skippers
Since its inception in 2006, the San Francisco Leukemia Cup Regatta has raised a grand total of $4.3 million. Sailors race in tribute of blood cancer patients and survivors, or “Honorary Skippers,” who give real inspiration to the sailors who support this important cause. Many of the Honorary Skippers raced in this year’s Leukemia Cup including Douglas Holmes, Chris Kostanecki, Bernard O’Driscoll and David Wilhite.

Top Fundraisers
Leukemia Cup Top Fundraising Boat perpetual trophy was awarded to Relentless and skippers David Joyner and Bill Nolan with total funds raised = $58,250.

First Place: Matt Brooks & Pam Rorke Levy with total funds raised = $52,700
Second Place: Anne Feinberg with total funds raised = $44,321
