Kurt Miller grew up sailing every type of sailboat available since he was ten years old, including; Sabot, P-Cats, Tornado, Laser, Finn, and J24s. Together with his father, Warren, Kurt produced films that launched some of the most successful boats ever, from the Laser and J24 to the windsurfer along with creating numerous entertaining sailing films including Outer Reaches of Sailing. "It will be exciting to bring my latest film, The Movement, to Southern California for these special film festivals," Miller said. "I went to Orange Coast College and spent many weekends on Catalina Island." The Movement played this year at the Sundance Film Festival in January and has been selected for fifteen other festivals around the world.

THE MOVEMENT: One Man Joins an Uprising is the story of one man returning to the mountain where his life was changed forever. He receives inspiration in his quest from four people who overcame physical disabilities to discover the freedom of movement. Peppered with humor and drama, this is a story of people who face adversity with an intense inner fire.

In 2004, Rick Finkelstein was paralyzed in a ski accident on Aspen Mountain. With a severed spine and internal trauma, he wasn't expected to live. Six years, nine surgeries, and a lifetime of rehab later, cameras captured his dramatic return to Aspen. Even with the latest gear, expert coaching, and mentorship from the sport's pioneers, Rick faced a daunting challenge with many risks and no guarantees.

Rick's friend, witness to the crash: "It wasn't until later that I completely broke down. You realize that it's just so fragile."

Robert Redford, narrator: "Our movement started with the word never. 'You'll never walk again ... You'll never see ... You'll never live to age five.' Never? Our heroes refused to accept that word."
