Submitted by John Rumsey: I think around the country you have more than a hundred people worthy of induction to the hall of fame. How about... Peggy Slater, lowell North, Malin Burnham, Gerry Driscol, Dennis Conner, Doug Peterson, JJ Isler, Carl Eichenlaub, Bill Ficker, Dave Ulman, Bob Allen, Bill Lapworth, Owen Churchill, Hank Easom, Tim Mosley and Jim Michales (Barient, inventors of the modern winches 1955), Paul Cayard, Don Trask, Bill Buchan, Cy Gillette, Bill Bentson, Buddy Melges, Ted Turner, john Kolias. Buddy Freidichs, Randy Smyth, Ding Schoonmaker, "Captain Tuna" Wollschlager. Bill Luders, Olin Stephens and Rod, Skip Etchells, Paul Smart, Adrian Iselin, Ted Hood, Robby Doyle, Bob Bevier, Bob Direcktor, Gilbert Gray, Corney Schields, Timmy Lahr, Ted Wells, Kenny Watts... Perhaps there should be a section for, say, 8 areas of the country with the best sailors and designers and boat builders from each mentioned because before 1950 there was not too much interaction between areas except in the Stars, Lightning and Snipe classes. There were a lot of very good sailors that did not travel in those days.
