One year later this thread makes for an interesting reading, and speaks loud about the wisdom of some of the posters. I'll never understand why a sailor would trash another class or sailboat.

Here are a few shots, showing the fastest growing 30+ feet OD class in the US:

(yes, they're just screenshots from virtual skipper IV if you ask a few people here Crazy )

In the meanwhile the A-30 has announced big news soon on their website: best of luck to them, and we hope we'll cross tacks soon on the racecourse.

Burp!

The A-30 is going to do it in and FT-10 sailors won't leave home without a protest flag.

I think the FT-10 is up to 150 deposits. JP do you still post here? Do you still think it will fail or is failing?
Everywhere they have been racing it seems line honors happen quite often. Fast is fun. Has another OD over 30 feet ever taken off this fast?

I've now sailed on one. It wasn't terribly windy, but we had fun and the boat sails nicely. It's built solidly from what I can see, and if I wanted a hot overnighter or inshore day-racer and wanted ssomething 'big-ish" I'd buy one.

Ther's nothing fancy about the finish, but everything works (except that stainelss steel tiller) and the boat moves along just fine.

So as for failing because the boat sucks....NOT.

It IS interesting to see this thread again after a year.
