EUROSAF launch new website

EUROSAF launch new website as part of their improved communications strategy for the second decade of the 21st century.
August 16, 2011

EUROSAF has launched a brand new website www.eurosaf.org, as the base for future improved communications and upon which their development of social media and internet communications will be based. It will also incorporate a gateway to the EUROSAF Race Officials’ Academy to be launched later in the year, as well as providing services for EUROSAF events in the future.

“Being an organisation with a need to connect with sailors and members scattered all over Europe, having an effective communications strategy is absolutely essential”, said Marco Predieri, President of EUROSAF. “The key element of this strategy has to be an effective and informative website, with links to all modern means of communication, such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn” he continued. ”With an increasing number of events being organised through EUROSAF, including the European Youth Sailing Games taking place in Riva del Garda this week, we have to be able to communicate effectively with a wide audience within the European sailing family and keep them informed of what’s going on” Marco concluded.

The new website is just a beginning and over the coming months there will be more additions and functionality added. The first step was to replace the tried and tested website, which has served EUROSAF well in recent years, but with the upsurge in the use of social media, plus an expectation that everything will be available on-line, a new platform was needed on which to build for the future.

In the course of the coming weeks and months consideration will be given to what new functionality is required and in what priority. EUROSAF will also consider the use of micro sites for major events, such as the High Performance Grand Prix, which takes place in Murcia this coming October. Currently, because of the previous limitations in technology, a separate website was needed for this http://www.sailingmurcia.org but this will not be necessary in the future. EUROSAF are also considering options for on-line entries for EUROSAF events and bookings for meetings such as their as Annual Conference, which in 2012 takes place on 27th – 29th April in Limassol, Cyprus.
