Sunscreen

If you Google "The Burning Facts" you will see a definitive scientific report by the EPA showing on page 4 that zinc oxide is the only ingredient to provide "Extensive Protection" from both UVA and UVB rays. Titanium oxide is second best. So you should definitely buy a sunscreen with either ingredient.

Note that things like "Helioplex" are not on the FDA approved ingredients list nor is listed on any sunscreen bottles ingredients list. Maybe because there is no such ingredient? That is why the FDA is finally moving to change sunscreen labeling requirements, including preventing claims of SPF over 50 because there is no meaningful additional protection. And SPF only measures protection from UVB rays which cause sunburns. It does not give you any clue as to the degree of protection from UVA rays which are the rays that cause skin cancer and premature skin aging because they go deeper into the skin.

If you want to separate the hype from the facts, read "The Burning Facts". We all paid for it.
