Henri Lloyd have extended and developed their accessories range for 2007, in conjunction with the launch of the new Dinghy & Sportsboat Stealth collection and to mirror the technical development of the other ranges. Accessories are often overlooked, but they play vital part of the overall sailing entire. Their main function is the protection of the extremities from the physical aspects of sailing and racing and also to provide protection against the varied climatic elements encountered while sailing. Head Wear Up to a third of the body heat lost through the head, and this percentage increases while in wet and cold conditions, therefore it is vital that this area is protected. The Ocean Neck Gaiter and Ocean Racer Balaclava, are extremely versatile garments and are used by both dinghy and offshore sailors, manufactured from stretch micro fleece fabric, they offer insulation and protection to an extremely exposed area of the body. Two versions of the modern day ‘beanie’ have also been produced, the Fleece Hat is a revisable polyester fleece hat, whose stretch and elasticity qualities ensure a snug fit while not comprising on insulation and warmth, while an alternative Wool Acrylic Hat is also available. Alternatively, in warmer conditions your face and head need to be protected from the sun’s harmful rays, as too much exposure leads to sun stroke and sunburn, while glare from the sun’s rays and sun reflection from the sea and sails can lead to eye damage. Henri-Lloyd’s Fast Dri™ range now includes the Fast Dri Tech Sun Hat, it’s broad rim offers greater protection in particular to the back of the neck, this hat also provides a UPF factor of 50+. Gloves Glove design is a very specialist area, Henri Lloyd have developed their new range for 2007, working alongside Team GBR Olympic Classes Squad 2003/04.The new range focusing on ergonomics and the use of specialist fabric technology to deliver exceptional durability, grip and dexterity. Different types of gloves are required for the varied conditions encountered while in offshore/ocean conditions or while dinghy and sportsboat sailing, this requirement can also be broken down again dependant on the different roles on board. The Stealth MAXGRIP™ Glove (SF & LF), have been developed to deliver optimum performance while dinghy and sportsboat sailing, the palm and fingers offers superior grip by the introduction of MAXGRIP technology, which is a sticky synthetic rubber, which delivers higher levels of grip and articulation while offering protection against rope burn, an additional benefit is that the MAXGRIP is resistant to water absorption. Kevlar® thread is used throughout for maximum strength and durability While the Stealth Pro Glove (SF & LF), has the same level of technology and innovation, but uses Amara®, a synthetic leather, in the palm and finger area, which offers reinforcement, protection and durability. Both gloves have a Neoprene wrist band, combined with a touch and close strap, while the back of the gloves is constructed from a nylon stretch mesh which delivers maximum flexibility. A selection of Offshore and Ocean gloves have been developed for the harsher conditions that are encountered, these gloves offer insulation, waterproof protection and grip and can be worn together or separately. For colder conditions, the Stealth Winter Glove combines the thermal and water resistant properties of neoprene with the added benefits of the new MAXGRIP technology on the palms and fingers, they are deal for winter sailing.  For bigger boat sailing, the new Offshore Racer Glove has been developed to provide greater protection for the harsher conditions encountered in longer haul sailing. The gloves offer insulation, 100% waterproof and breathable protection. A synthetic leather is used on the palm and fingers to protect and improve grip, while a double cuff system provides extra protection against water influx. A new Fleece Glove with synthetic leather reinforcement has been introduced to the range. It can be worn on it’s own for light thermal protection or be worn as an inner glove with the Ocean Racer Mitt. The glove product ranges size from XS – XXL / standard or large. The hat product range are one size only (apart from the Ocean Racer Hat 2) Ends For more information, images or testing; please contact Amy Bradley-Watson PR & Sponsorship Manager Email: amy@hamble.henrilloyd.co.uk Tel: 00 44 (0) 7738579015
