June 30, 2011 Contact: Krista Stanley yachts@trippdesign.net Tripp Design Brings in New Talent Thanks to the securing of new contracts Tripp Design has expanded its team, increasing breadth and depth of the office team. Davide Legati will be in charge of design project management acting as liaison to the Owner’s project managers and to shipyards. Davide’s experience is long and varied from naval architecture to project management and, most notably, as the head of the Wally Europe technical office, where he oversaw the technical design and construction of the yachts Esense, Saudade, W3K, and Magic Carpet among many builds. David Egan joins us as an aerodynamicist/mathematician with a singular expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). He has been a long time consultant of Tripp Design covering CFD, appendage design and performance analysis. He will carry on fulfilling these functions in-house as well as customizing our design and analysis tools. David brings with him a breadth of experience gained while working for America’s Cup teams (Team New Zealand, Prada, Shosholosa) after years of CFD experience working under JL Hess at McDonnell/Douglas, and then Grumman in the aeronautical industry, and Silcone Graphics. Myles Cornwell joins us from Derecktor Shipyards, Bridgeport USA where he was the naval architect in charge of outfitting detail design for the 85m motor yacht Cakewalk. Miles is a graduate from Carnegie Mellon in Civil Engineering and has a Masters degree from Southampton University in Marine Science. He brings a practical approach to resolving the many issues encountered in superyacht design. We are very pleased to welcome Myles, David and Davide. Their contribution will enhance and expand the quality of our services to owners and shipyards alike, from grand prix race boats to modern sailing yachts of all sizes. www.trippdesign.net Ph. +1.203.838.2215
