SailLaser St. Petersburg to Open this Winter
SailLaser, the premier training facility and LaserPerformance product dealer, is opening its fifth North American location in St. Petersburg, FL, next to the Harborage Marina in mid-January.
SailLaser started as an extremely successful concept in its first two locations, Weymouth, England and Miami, Florida. To date, there are currently twelve SailLaser centers open across the globe, from Hong Kong to Dubai. These SailLaser locations have served thousands of new sailors, holding basic sailing classes, hosting successful Summer Sailing Camp Programs and conducting Advanced Racing Clinics.
The St. Petersburg Center will replicate many of the popular programs proven at the other Centers. This includes Summer Sailing Camps, Adult and Children’s Sailing Lessons, Community Sailing Programs, Racing Clinics, Corporate Programs and Special Events. Also, available at the Center will be a wide range of LaserPerformance products including Lasers, Picos, Bahias, and LaserPerformance’s newest product, the Bug. Additionally, SailLaser St. Petersburg will feature a complete line of dinghy clothing and accessories, including items by Gill, Kaenon, Optiparts and Zhik.

SailLaser is the only Center in St. Petersburg that provides sailing programs in brand new boats from the LaserPerformance line for all ages and then offers programs for these new sailors to continue in the sport without the need to own their own a boat." says David Himmel, Category Manager of SailLaser. “Our whole mission is predicated on providing a great on-the-water experience. We want to do our part to shift the paradigm away from sailing being a sport that is too complicated or expensive to participate in. This is the first SailLaser center in the U.S. with a complete retail offering. Sailors will be able to purchase LaserPerformance boats, parts, line, accessories and high-quality sailing clothing directly from SailLaser St. Petersburg. The facility will also have the capabilities to perform maintenance and repairs.
LaserPerformance is the steward of some of sailing’s most recognized brands including Olympic Laser, the Sunfish, the 420, and the Vapor Optimist Dinghy. LaserPerformance products are actively sold and sailed in over 40 countries worldwide.
