SAILING Magazine celebrates 45 years Log-In to Post/Reply

SAILING Magazine is celebrating its 45th anniversary with a special collector's issue, on newsstands now. The issue includes special articles from Technical Designer Bob Perry who features four remarkable designs from different decades, a special Used Boat Notebook from John Kretschmer on designs from the year of SAILING Magazine's first issue that are still going strong today and a look back at the last 45 years of the sport. There is also a 20-page photo section filled with some of the best sailing photos ever taken and a feature called "My Favorite Boat" in which well-known sailors, including Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, Skip Novak and Buddy Melges write in their own words about their favorite boat.

The issue also marks the launch of SAILING's biggest sweepstakes ever: 45 Days of Giveaways. Each weekday beginning September 6, readers will have the opportunity to enter to win great prizes from our advertisers, culminating in the grand prize: a weeklong Moorings charter in the British Virgin Islands.

SAILING Magazine was founded by Bill Schanen Jr. in 1966 in Port Washington, Wisconsin. Today the magazine boasts subscribers in every state and a worldwide readership of 130,000. It is the oldest continually published sailing magazine in the United States. Its oversized pages are full of stunning photos and stories, technical articles and how-tos on every kind of sailing.

For more in the special anniversary issue, go to SAILING's website at http://www.sailingmagazine.net or pick it up on newsstands today
