SCOOT

Completes Seat Trials

Nelson/Marek announced today that
SCOOT, the Nelson/Marek Design 137 has completed her Sea Trials in Narragansett Bay.

SCOOT
, was commissioned by Mr. Dale Phelon of Nantucket in the early fall of 2008 after he was unable to find a production day-sailor that suited his layout and performance requirements. The commission was awarded after Phelon decided to pursue a custom project and met with New England Boatwork’s (NEB) Tom Rich and Nelson/Marek’s (NMYD) Greg Stewart on Labor Day 2008. At this meeting, Phelon explained the type of day-sailor he wanted and stated his requirement that the boat had to be designed and built in America. The team got on well, the ideas flowed, and Phelon commissioned a push button 55 foot day-sailor!!

Full details attached.
