KIWI 40FC The First All New Zealand Class 40
BTBoats is a newly established NZ company, aimed to market and distribute a new all NZ Class 40 yacht. BTBoats is proud to announce that it has recently commissioned Farr Yacht Design Ltd. to design a new Class 40 yacht.
The name of this first all New Zealand Class 40 is: KIWI 40FC.
Cookson Boats will carry out the yacht's construction in their premises in Auckland. Lapo Ancillotti, who has a long history of collaboration with both Cookson Boats and Farr Yacht Design, will be the project coordinator and marketing manager for BTBoats.
"Farr Yacht Design's outstanding record in IMOCA 60 racing over the last two and a half
years makes them an obvious choice for a Class 40 project. The recent Cookson 12mt and Cookson 50' projects that I have worked on with Cookson Boats and Farr Yacht Design, have been both enjoyable and winning projects. I look forward to this next successful collaboration. The Class 40 potential, combined with the design and building challenge, convinced us to undertake this exhilarating project. The first KIWI 40FC is due to be launched in August 2010.
