A high performance skiff on a proven platform.

'Why create something entirely new, when the proven platform already exists'

The FX is the sister ship to the 49er, designed to perform in true skiff style, without compromise.

Mackay Boats released the first video of the new FX late last week. http://youtu.be/CRxwzrY3aMU

Further pictures along with the design and development story can be viewed at. http://www.mackayboats.com/index.cfm/boats/fx/

The FX uses the existing 49er hull, wings, foils, boom and pole.
The new mast and sails fit onto the existing platform in exactly the same way as the men's 49er rig.

Crews will be able to get sailing quickly buying an existing 49er and using the new FX mast and sails.

The FX performs very closely to the men's 49er, with the men's and women's teams are able to train and sail together- as well as being able to share parts between the 2 boats if needed.

The rig was designed to meet the ISAF target crew weight, and captures the essence of true Olympic athleticism, based on a strict and proven One Design concept, sailed in every continent of the world, built by proven Olympic class builders.
