Aquila RP 45, new Reichel Pugh 45 foot performance sailing yacht is unveiled, ideal for Grand Prix as well as Club Racing.
Clearwater, FL (May 24, 2011) – Sino Eagle Yacht and the leading yacht design team of Reichel Pugh are pleased to announce the new Aquila RP 45 sailboat. The partnership of Sino Eagle, recently awarded Asian Yacht Builder of the Year for a second year running and Reichel Pugh, Internationally acclaimed yacht designers have combined to produce a fast, fun and competitive inshore and offshore racer-cruiser.

The Aquila RP 45 has been designed and built to be equally comfortable on inshore round the buoys racing and also offshore races. Her easily driven low wetted surface hull insures light weather performance but equally, when slightly heeled becomes stiff and a solid performer when the breeze kicks in. On deck she has a grand prix layout with a modern open transom, shallow cockpit floor and low windage geometry. While below offers an interior that is efficiently fitted out for overnight offshore cruising and racing with a twin owners V berth forward, a fully enclosed head, a settee lounge sitting area with a fully equipped galley with sink and storage, a built in navigation station and additional berths in the aft parts of the hull. She complies with all IRC requirements and is built in accordance with various International certificates.
The carbon double spreader, single backstay and fixed forestay rig provides a good balance of sail area and ease of adjustment for cruising and racing. The bowsprit makes the design modern but also optimized for racing and spinnaker handling.
