The Boyz from Rochester conquer J24 Colors for back to back weekend wins in Lake George After a great win last week over a very competitive J22 fleet consisting of 38 boats, Flip Wehrheim and Jimmy Barnash headed back to the beautiful Lake George to test the J24 class. Flip and Jimmy sailed the boat Old Crow to another huge win as light wins tested the 68 boat fleet. "Tricky" was the adjective that 'Flip" describe the conditions and "the competition was tough", with the likes of Will Welles of North, Kiki Werner, and Tom Duran to name a few. Saturday was a day of patience as the team had to wait for the breeze to fill in. The breeze finally filled from the south and which consisted of a persistent left shift. At the end of the first Day "Old Crow" was in second, three points out of first behind Warren Costikyan of "thumper". Sunday was more light air! With wind speeds of 4-5 kts the team set out to win the day and hopefully win the regatta, " our goal was to get off the line in the middle and play the shifts" said Flip. The Team achieved there goal and found themselves winning the 2008 J24 Colors. "We would like to thanks the RC and the Lake George Yacht Club for there patients with the wind and generosity" Flip stated and cant wait to come back next year. -- http://www.lake-george.com/j24/ Tracy Swanson Director of Public relations "FAW RACING"
