2009 29er U.S. National Championship

The 2009 29er U.S. Nationals hosted by the St. Francis Yacht Club on San Francisco’s famous City Front course is scheduled to be held on the weekend of the 19-20 of September with measurement and clinic on Friday the 18th. This is a big year for the 29er fleet as it is the 10 anniversary of the fleet. This combined with the incredible showing in the recently completed Worlds on Lake Garda in Italy where they had 190 entries with 13 teams making the trip from the U.S. makes the 29er a platform to watch and get involved in. We will be also dedicating a new perpetual trophy at this year’s event during the Saturday night dinner and class meeting. This trophy is in appreciation for all the tireless support and encouragement the Maxam Family of San Diego has provided over the last decade to the 29er fleet. This trophy will be awarded at the final Pacific Coast Championship series event hosted by ABYC at the annual 2009 Turkey Day Regatta. Congratulations to Bill Maxam and his wonderful sailing family from the 29er class.
