I guess Bill Lee has forgotten the International Catamaran Challenge Trophy was/is often referred to as " The Little America's Cup"? Originally deeded by my Dad's chums and sailing buds at Sea Cliff YC, it is schedualed to be contested in Newport off Fort Adams in upcoming weeks. The boats used today are state of the art MULTIHULLS! A long reach from those launched off the SCYC beach of my youth.
Let the IAC stay mono and developmental and the ICCT be the development class for multis!
Those original signers of that deed for the ICCT were those that instilled in me the love for the sport they taught me. Many of them are gone, joining my Dad in sailing the astral seas and hoisting some cold ones after their races to 'dis/cuss' who had hailed starboard first, even if one had been on port tack! Mr. Fast is Fun disrepects those men that had 'his' idea and set it down on paper over 40 years prior to Mr. Lee!
Not to dis the Sage of Santa Cruz, I would like him to put his efforts into designing a fun, fast and cheap one-design for future 'Big' America's Cup campaigns.

My bad on saying the ICCT would be contested in Newport soon. I had not noticed the date of 2003 on the article posted on the Sea Cliff YC website. I'm sure if one were interested, they could e-mail the club and one of the "old timers" that signed the original deed of gift would be happy to supply an update. Norv R. or George C. are you out there?

What is so wrong with the current IACC´s for AM Cup races? Great to watch life and on TV. Why have crash and burn scenes, (suggested in the latest Seahorse MAG) when racing sailboats is mostly about teamwork, strategy, tactics and the wind. The one who does not understand will never become a fan. The one who understands, just loves it. At least in my sailng community here in Germany. And please: do not ask me about baseball. A game which I do not understand though I had watched it whilst visiting the states.

Manfred grow a dick we need more crashes and burning i like seeing people fuck up. i personally have the first multihull america's cup boat, which i take off sweet jumps and do huge gaps with...today, i tried to jump the great barrier reef, but wiped her...i snapped the stick and had to swim home. i also had to fight of a great white shark. it was sweet
i also sailed through valencia and t-boned eam emirates and bmw oracle, pitchforked'em. i then sailed back home to ccolumbia to proceed with the drug running i do as a day job....how else could i afford my one-of-a-kind IACC multihull...biiiiitch

Chris!
Now that is cool. Real AM Cup stuff. If only our friend with the dixx, L Schuyler, would be able to handwrite the amendment into the protocol. I do not see anyone at ACM having the gut´´s to do so.
cheers
Manfred
