Sailing Club instructors will be responsible for class room and on the water sailing instruction. Supervise and manage the sailing program and facilities which include the sailing club, docks, gazebo, club house and North Beach for Bald Head Island Ltd. Instructors must conduct themselves in a professional manner, act as role model for students, and have the ability to communicate effectively with members of all ages. Due to the club boundaries, instructors need to show an advanced knowledge of US Coast Guard international-inland navigation rules of the road. Instructors must have prior experience and show confidence in : close proximity to shipping and heavy traffic, strong currents, right-of-way rules, emergency rescue procedures, boat handling in all conditions and docking. US Sailing philosophies and techniques outlines in Small Boat Sailing Level 1 Instruction Manual, eighth edition, must be adhered to by instructors afloat and ashore.
