ONE°15 Brooklyn Marina, New York City’s first new marina in 50 years, offers unparalleled water access to New Yorkers and boating enthusiasts from around the globe. Located just south of the Brooklyn Bridge in Brooklyn Heights, between Piers 4 & 5, with sweeping views of Lower Manhattan, the Marina features a Sailing Club and School, seasonal docking facilities and an exceptional community program. The marina is open from May 1- October 31 of each year weather permitting.

The ONE°15 Brooklyn Sail Club, is a membership-based sailing organization founded in 2015 to serve the New York Harbor sailing community with high performance, professionally maintained racing and cruising boats. The Club is an integral part of the ONE°15 Brooklyn Marina, serving as the gateway to New York Harbor’s waterfront. Coupled with a unique sail programming and a club center for sailing activities, our goal is to assist in revitalizing recreational sailing in New York Harbor.

The Marina also contributes two percent of the Marina Services revenues to support free and low-cost community boating, as well as provide a world-class facility on which these programs can thrive. We call this facility our community dock. The community dock will be the largest fully accessible community access, f point in New York City, making up nearly 25% of the square footage of dock space in the marina. Slips and space on this dock is shared amongst community partners which include such organizations such as the Billion Oyster Project, Brooklyn Boat Works, and the Kayak Foundation.

Job Summary
Manager will be responsible for executing the Marina’s operational plan, assisting in the financial management as directed, worker health, safety and productivity, facilities care, and maintenance for the marina only, not other associated businesses within facility unless otherwise directed. Individual will manage and oversee docking reservations, docking services, repair and maintenance of the docks, amenities, and will serve as the primary Dockmaster in charge. In the absence of the Office Manager & Front Desk staff, will take reservations, assign slips, greets guests, answers phones, and directs calls.

General Accountabilities
• Train, direct, and supervise the dock staff.
• Inspects boats and berthing areas to prevent obstructions that may interfere with navigation.
• Ensure all vessels are registered upon arrival.
• Ensure the creation of accurate daily meter reading reports and nightly dockage lists.
• Resolves customer complaints regarding sales and service.
• Checks boats for proper securing and takes corrective action as needed.
• Enforces Park, City, and State ordinances relating to the marina.
• Inspects facilities for damage or hazardous conditions.
• Performs routine maintenance on the facility and related equipment.
• Interacts with a variety of people on issues such as, boating safety and marina rules and regulations.
• Operates various types of hand tools.
• Assist and coordinate special projects and events.
• Will be responsible to decommission the marina in the fall and recommissioning in the spring including all repair and maintenance.
• Will assist with special projects, company wide operations and clerical functions, as needed during the “off-season.”
• Obtain regulatory certifications to be able to assume responsibility for marina’s lifesaving equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications
• Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent
• Experience: Appropriate certifications and/or licensures with at least 4 years Marina Management Experience with other customer-oriented facilities management required.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000.00 to $70,000.00 /year, depending on experience.
