The Downtown Sailing Center located in the Inner Harbor of Baltimore Maryland is looking for a Fleet and Membership Program Director. This entirely new position is ideal for a sailor who is comfortable making necessary fleet repairs while also being a team lead on member programs. Responsibilities include:

Fleet and Facilities Management:
Managing and implementing the daily and long-term maintenance of the DSC day fleet
Completing necessary fiberglass repairs
Completing or appropriately managing the completion of engine repairs
maintaining a record of the work accomplished
communicating with the ED the work that needs to be accomplished
Managing purchasing and fleet and facility budget
Managing work parties (volunteer driven events to complete necessary repairs)
Planning/day preparation
staffing (paid/volunteer)
Management of the actual event
Managing Skilled/Unskilled volunteer labor
Creating Volunteer tasks
Creating a Volunteer network
Supporting Cruising and Racing Program Fleet Maintenance Volunteer Efforts
Managing part-time support for fleet repairs
Summer staff support
Managing the grounds
Taking out trash as needed
Keeping the containers organized and clean
Responsible for the on-the-water implementation of the following member programs:
Thursday night racing
All recreational member sails
Cruising education, specifically with the Cruising Program Member-led Education
Taste of Sailing & Adult Ed Classes x2/month
Setup and Management of Open Houses x3 of 4
Responsibilities for the programs include
event preparation
management of leaders in programs
working with Race Council, Cruising Council, and Rec Sailing Council
staffing/organization/client selection
troubleshooting potential event problems
Serving as the emergency point of contact during the above events after workday

Experience with fleet maintenance including fiberglass repair, sailboat hardware and rigging repair and maintenance, small engine knowledge/maintenance experience
Volunteer management, customer service experience
Well organized
Willing to work in fast-paced environment, self-starter
Sailing experience: preferred one of the following qualifications: small boat level one, race committee experience, BK instructor
Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Position: Full-Time With Benefits; Weekdays and frequent weekends
Salary Range: $42,500-$55,000
