Engineer Wanted for Theatre Ship sailing the South coast of
USA & western Canada

The Caravan Stage Company, a non-profit theatre company touring and performing on a 90 ft ship, is currently looking for an engineer.

CSC is an experimental political theatre company that tours with an international cast of professional artists: singers, actors, dancers, theatre technicians. The 2017 tour starts in St Petersburg FL and finishes in Vancouver Island BC.

Applicant must have previous engineering experience, a sense of humor, and be self-motivated.

Location: Production: St Petersburg FL, Sailing out on the Gulf of Mexico to the ICW to New Orleans, Galveston TX. The ship, Amara Zee, will then be shipped to the west coast of Vancouver Island to tour and perform in Gibson, Bowen Island, Vancouver, and Victoria.


Duties include:
1. Maintain 4 Perkins Diesel engines: 2 propulsion 120 hp & 2 generator engines 80 hp.
2. Come on tour with the company, keeping the engines working and in ship shape
3. Work backstage during the show.

This is a 5-month touring position, starting early April to the end of the tour Oct 1, 2017, with the month of June off.

This is a great experience and a chance to live and work in an intense creative environment in a community of professional artists from North America and Europe.

PAY: travel expenses, Room and Board (home cooked meals on board the ship), a small stipend during the rehearsal period in April & May, and equal profit share during the tour.
