Optimist Instructors
Port Washington Yacht Club is accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Optimist instructor for the 2018 season. Position requires US Sailing Level 1, Safe Powerboat Handling, First Aid and CPR certifications. First year instructors are expected to complete this training prior to the start of the program. Applicants should possess a passion for sailing, a concern for safety on the water and be able to demonstrate a maturity and professionalism to work with fellow instructors, staff, parents and sailors of all ages. The ability to communicate with sailors, their parents, supervisors and club management is key. All instructors will have extensive parent interaction and will work with our Sailing Director to develop sailors and prepare teams to be race ready. We have an extensive fleet of support boats and resources available to instructors and a supportive membership. Compensation is competitive and based on experience and skill.
Dates of employment: mid-June to mid-August 2018

Windsurfing Instructor
Port Washington Yacht Club is accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Windsurfing instructor for the 2018 season. Position requires US Sailing Level 1, Safe Powerboat Handling, First Aid and CPR certifications. Applicants should possess a passion for windsurfing, a concern for safety on the water and be able to demonstrate a maturity and professionalism to work with fellow instructors, staff, parents and sailors of all ages. Adventure Sailing Instructor
Port Washington Yacht Club is accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Adventure sailing instructor for the 2018 season. Position requires US Sailing Level 1, Safe Powerboat Handling, First Aid and CPR certifications. Applicants should possess a passion for all types of sailing experiences, a concern for safety on the water and be able to demonstrate a maturity and professionalism to work with fellow instructors, staff, parents and sailors of all ages. The ability to communicate with sailors, their parents, supervisors and club management is key. Adventure sailing instructors should be able to teach in a multitude of boats including but not limited to: Catamarans, OíPen Bics, Windsurfers, Sunfish, RS Feva, and Pixel. All instructors will have extensive parent interaction and will work with our Sailing Director to develop sailors and prepare sailors for full day adventure trips. We have an extensive fleet of support boats and resources available to instructors and a supportive membership. Compensation is competitive and based on experience and skill.

Laser Race Coach and Big Boat Coach
Port Washington Yacht Club is accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Laser Race Coach and Big Boat Coach instructor for the 2018 season.
Our race coaches will be responsible for developing our junior sailorís strategic racing concepts and curriculum so our racers are regatta ready. Position requires US Sailing Level 1, (Level 2 preferred) Safe Powerboat Handling, First Aid and CPR certifications. Our Laser coaches will lead our racers in the JSALIS regatta circuit and our Big Boat Program. Applicants should possess a passion for racing, a concern for safety on the water and be able to demonstrate a maturity and professionalism to work with fellow instructors, staff, parents and sailors of all ages. The ability to communicate with sailors, their parents, supervisors and club management is key. All instructors will have extensive parent interaction and will work with our Sailing Director to develop sailors and prepare teams to be race ready. We have an extensive fleet of support boats and resources available to instructors and a supportive membership. Compensation is competitive and based on experience and skill.

About Port Washington Yacht Club: Our 50 plus year old program is a learn to sail, recreational and regatta training in Optimist, Laser, Club 420, windsurf, catamaran and other small boat classes for approximately 200 children ranging from 8 to 18 years old. We hope to attract motivated staff that will create a fun and dynamic summer experience for beginners through our advanced racers with practice time on water and responsibility for students on land when required by wind or weather.
