Job Title: Junior Sailing Program Director
Description: The Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club located on the Mid Coast of Maine is looking for a Junior Program Director for the 2012 season. Waterfront housing is available and compensation is commensurate with experience.
The BHYC will be hosting the Maine State Opti Championship as well as attending other regional Regattas. The Director will help organize these events and choose certain Jr Sailing staff member(s) as coaches for the Regattas.
The BHYC currently uses Optimist’s for the morning beginner sailing program and 420’s for the more advanced & racing programs in the afternoons. Two J22’s are available for teaching and racing against club members twice each week as well.
The candidate should have the following characteristics:
Excellent communication skills
Friendly, approachable and be able to relate well with children & teens
Positive role model for students & instructors
Have a love of sailing
Skill and experience relating to parents and other volunteers
Have a good sense of humor and ability to create a fun atmosphere
Responsible and safety conscious
