College of Charleston Assistant Sailing Coach Position
The College of Charleston is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Sailing Coach. This is a 10 month staff position and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
The Assistant Coach provides support to the Head Coach in: 1) on the water coaching, 2) practice and training organization 3) Team Travel and Organization 4) Regatta management and organization 5) Budget maintenance 6) some boat/fleet maintenance when necessary 7) help with recruiting of qualified athletes when necessary.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree is required. Experience in coaching sailing at the collegiate level and US Sailing Level two (or equivalent) accreditation is preferred. Candidates should have high level competitive racing experience and sailing skills.
The candidate must have a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all College of Charleston Athletics Department policies and procedures and the appropriate NCAA, US Sailing, ICSA, SAISA regulations and policies.
The candidate must demonstrate excellent organizational skills, interpersonal communication skills and managerial skills. References must be provided. Weekend and evening work is required.
